Canadian – Netherlands Resilient Cities Summit:
Planning and Design in a Changing Climate

Adaptation to a changing climate and mitigating this change is a global challenge. Canada and the Netherlands are both pursuing sustainable and smart solutions for their densely populated cities situated in the vicinity of water. Key themes are the fostering of safe and clean environments, urban flood protection, the management and re-use of soil and sediment, how to transition to more community resilience, and the importance of a regional resilience strategy. Increasingly, we realize the need to find integrated solutions to complex water systems, and to take water management into account early on in urban planning processes. The Canadian – Netherlands Resilient Cities Summit will be a unique opportunity for Canadian and Dutch experts to discuss real issues and challenges and to work on joint solutions.

This summit gives ample opportunity to meet the participants from the incoming trade mission from the Netherlands, with experts in the field of water management, soil management, project development and design, and sustainable energy.
